Deorphanizing GPCRs
The Gq and Gs calcium responses can be differentiated by their kinetic profiles, and it is possible to use the BD ActOne™ technology to classify these receptors. Gi receptors can also be investigated, and since the signaling is through native receptors and G-proteins, there is no need to have access to the naturally occurring ligand.
