Toxicity Biomarkers
Description
Argutus Medical Quantitative Enzyme Immunoassays for Glutathione S-Transferase (GST) in Hepatic Toxicity Studies Glutathione-S-transferases (specific to liver or renal injury) are highly sensitive biomarkers of organ injury and have been well-documented for use in pre-clinical animal studies during drug development, as well as clinical monitoring for disease state and therapeutic efficacy. They are also well-suited for use in predictive toxicity. By running a panel of well-defined biomarker assays in parallel for key parameters (i.e., alpha GST, cell number and MTT) and appropriate data analysis, one can predict likely in-vivo toxicity from in-vitro studies.
Argutus Medical Rat Urinary Renal Papillary Antigen-1 (RPA-1) Argutus Medical Rat Urinary RPA-1 EIA is used to measure Renal Papillary Antigen-1 (RPA-1), an early indicator of renal injury, in rat urine. The RPA-1 EIA uses a mouse monoclonal IgG antibody directed against an antigen, RPA- 1, found in the rat collecting ducts of the papilla. RPA-1 is released into the urine in the event of a collecting duct injury. Injury to the collecting duct is found in renal papillary necrosis (RPN), a severe form of renal injury for which there are currently no non-invasive biomarkers.
