Magnetic bead technology allows for the simple, rapid and efficient enrichment or depletion of specific cell populations. BD Biosciences Pharmingen is proud to announce the availability of antibody-labeled magnetic particles that provide the ultimate flexibility for enrichment or depletion of leukocyte subpopulations. We have combined the advantages of a magnetic separation system with the proven high quality of our BD Pharmingen™ antibodies. With the BD IMag™ Cell Separation System, the Choice is clear.
BD IMag particles range in size between 0.1 and 0.45 µm and are coated with high-quality BD Pharmingen monoclonal antibodies. These particles are optimized for positive or negative selection of leukocyte subpopulations using either the BD IMagnet™ direct magnet or a magnetic separation column. BD IMag particles coated with specific monoclonal antibodies are added to a cell suspension. The BD IMag particles will specifically bind to the subpopulation of interest. The labeled cell suspension can then be placed in the magnetic field of the BD IMagnet direct magnet, or alternatively, the cells can be run over a separation column that has been placed in a magnetic field. Captured cells can be run on a flow cytometer with the BD IMag particles intact (see figure below).
